The Gauge

Another weekend bites the dust. It was a good one, though. Annette and I went to the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival and saw lots of yarn and fiber and sheep and llamas. The only disturbing part? Walking past crowds of people eating lamb sausages while little tiny lambs were wandering about, crying and being cute. Golly. But I did buy some beautiful yarn from Blue Moon, and will hopefully be carrying their stuff in the shop by January. It was nice to have some of the vendors tell me what good stuff they have heard about the shop - every little bit helps these days.

I had a nice Sunday afternoon to myself - I hung out in my newly transformed craft room and made some sculpey figures, including a little bust of Lottie. I then broke said bust by encouraging Lottie to play with it - "Look Lottie! It's you!" - and now have to repair it.

Ashley and I had a date Sunday night. We had supper at the Lovely Hula Hands and then went to see Her Space Holiday at the Doug Fir. We got really into one of his cds when we were courting, so it was nice to go together. The show was great, the place was great, but the next time I WILL NOT DRINK ELEVENTY BEERS. It always seems like such a grand idea, and I honestly convince myself that I'll feel fine in the morning. Well, I didn't. I had my first drawing class at PCC at 1 pm, and was finally feeling normal-ish by then.

Ashley finally persuaded me to watch Scarface yesterday (and into today), and it was pretty good if you didn't have to listen to that GOD-AWFUL SCORE. What on earth? We also watched some of Season One of Northern Exposure, a mystery gift for our wedding. I do love Northern Exposure. It makes me feel good and like there are nice people in the world. Unfortunately those people wear pleats, and a lot of them. I've never seen so many pleats!

(Chris - if you read this, let me know when you'll be in Portland - I'd love to see you!)
